. . . . . I can't say that I have?

Take my word for it - the badger has the better temperament.

[identity profile] bright-shield.livejournal.com 2008-05-22 05:20 am (UTC)(link)
That... that.... remind me never to get on the bad side of your luggage, then. But at least it seems to be in a helpful hungry? mood today!

[identity profile] failed-wizard.livejournal.com 2008-05-22 05:21 am (UTC)(link)
I think it's almost as glad as I am to see the Patrician gone.

Strike = Not There

[identity profile] bright-shield.livejournal.com 2008-05-22 05:24 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, he's gone, is he? That's convenient. I suppose it's quite a feat if he managed to intimidate your luggage too.

[identity profile] bright-shield.livejournal.com 2008-05-22 05:31 am (UTC)(link)
Ah... better luck with your next roommate then?

[identity profile] failed-wizard.livejournal.com 2008-05-22 05:35 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks. Someone other than the Tyrant of Ankh-Morpork would be a treat.

[identity profile] bright-shield.livejournal.com 2008-05-22 05:39 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, generally one doesn't want to bunk down with tyrants and.... that was actually his real title?

[identity profile] failed-wizard.livejournal.com 2008-05-22 05:41 am (UTC)(link)
No. His official title is Patrician, but I think when it's "one man one vote" and he's the one man, tyrant works.

[identity profile] bright-shield.livejournal.com 2008-05-22 05:45 am (UTC)(link)
Heh, well, monarchies tend to be like that, but in that case, I'll congratulate you on your sudden roommate vacancy. Although it makes me wonder what he may or may not have been doing while here...

[identity profile] failed-wizard.livejournal.com 2008-05-22 05:51 am (UTC)(link)
Oh no. It's not a monarchy. Patrician isn't hereditary. We haven't had a monarchy in a very long time.

But having him gone makes me happy. Ever since he made me babysit a tourist, my life has gone to the... well, it would have gone better if had just gone to the dogs.

[identity profile] bright-shield.livejournal.com 2008-05-22 05:53 am (UTC)(link)
So, it's an elected office? Couldn't he be bounced out then?

Well, I'm certainly glad for you then. . . . . . . . . . . the tourist was that bad?

[identity profile] failed-wizard.livejournal.com 2008-05-22 05:56 am (UTC)(link)
Remember what I said about one man one vote?

Twoflower? Yes. I mean he means well, but... yes. He's that bad.

[identity profile] bright-shield.livejournal.com 2008-05-22 05:59 am (UTC)(link)
Sounds like some of the republics from back home.

Bad luck? . . . . he isn't somehow responsible for you ending up here, is he?

[identity profile] failed-wizard.livejournal.com 2008-05-22 06:02 am (UTC)(link)
He does a good job. Crime's down and the city runs well enough. I just wish he'd never known my name.

Twoflower? No.

... At least, I don't think so. I didn't hear "Wait, let me take a picture" or anything before I ended up here.

[identity profile] bright-shield.livejournal.com 2008-05-22 06:09 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, I see. Well, at least this place can be considered a sort of vacation from that now.

That's good at least? Although it might be enough to put one off cameras for awhile.

[identity profile] failed-wizard.livejournal.com 2008-05-22 06:10 am (UTC)(link)
As soon as I get comfortable, I'll end up back in Fourecks, I expect.

Cameras, dragons, sailing, travel, trolls...

[identity profile] bright-shield.livejournal.com 2008-05-22 06:14 am (UTC)(link)
. . . . you know, that would be one clever way of finding a way back.

That sounds like quite an adventure. You ever consider writing down your memoirs?

[identity profile] failed-wizard.livejournal.com 2008-05-22 06:18 am (UTC)(link)
It's just the way my luck works.

It's too depressing.

[identity profile] bright-shield.livejournal.com 2008-05-22 06:26 am (UTC)(link)
My lucks tends to go really good or really bad too.

Ah well.... not sure if others would consider that so, but I suppose something to keep in mind if you'd ever need the potch money.
